News PHOTO CALL: Stephen Sondheim, Kate Baldwin, Matthew Broderick, Original Stars of Into the Woods and Fun Home at the Dramatists Guild Gala Joanna Gleason, Chip Zien, Sydney Lucas, Kate Baldwin, Matthew Broderick and Christine Ebersole were among the actors who took the stage Oct. 27 as part of the Dramatists Guild's Great Writers Thank Their Lucky Stars gala at the Edison Ballroom.

Noah Himmelstein (I Am Harvey Milk) directed the performance that was hosted by Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, Big Fish, I Am Harvey Milk).

The annual event honors legendary playwrights, composers and lyricists who have greatly impacted the American theatre.

The writers, whose work was honored at the gala, included Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens), Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello), Michael Korie (Grey Gardens), Lisa Kron (Fun Home, Well), James Lapine (Into the Woods, Act One), Terrence McNally (Master Class, It's Only A Play), Charles Strouse (Bye Bye Birdie, Annie), Jeanine Tesori (Caroline or Change, Violet) and Stephen Trask (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Cavedweller).

Among the stars announced to perform their works were original Into the Woods cast members Gleason and Zien, as well as young Fun Home actress Lucas and Michael Cerveris, alongside Broderick (The Producers), Ebersole (Grey Gardens), Baldwin (Big Fish), Marva Hicks (Caroline, or Change), Ramona Keller (Caroline, or Change), Miriam Shor (Hedwig) and Tracy Nicole Chapman (The Lion King). Charlie Rosen will musical direct.

Ann Gottlieb and Heidi Ettinger were the year's special honorees.
