News PHOTO CALL: The Ravinia Festival Celebrates Sondheim with Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald and More Illinois' Ravinia Festival celebrated Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday with a Lonny Price-directed gala benefit performance entitled Sondheim:80 on July 31.

The concert featured songs from such Sondheim musicals as Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Passion, Sunday in the Park with George, Anyone Can Whistle, West Side Story and Gypsy. Paul Gemignani conducted the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Broadway's George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald and Michael Cerveris sang; the four have all been featured in Ravinia's Sondheim celebrations since the series began in 2001.
