The historically-based drama details the relationships between Jung and Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, and Jung and the young Russian patient, Sabine Spielrein. The latter relationship comes to destroy the former, as Jung breaks away from Freud's theories to form his own. Film star Fiennes is best known for his roles in "Schindler's List," "Quiz Show," "The English Patient" and "Red Dragon." He will return to the London stage in Ibsen's Brand at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in May, 2003.

The Talking Cure delayed its opening night due the illness and then death of its Sigmund Freud, the actor James Hazeldine. Bill Patterson has replaced Hazeldine in the show. Jodhi May plays Spielrein.

The Talking Cure continues through Feb. 5, 2003, at the Cottesloe Theatre.
