John Tillinger is the director (or make that ringmaster) in charge of the chaos that is Alan Ayckbourn's joint works, House and Garden. The double comedies opened on Stage I and Stage II at Manhattan Theatre Club May 21. Patricia Connely (with party guest Rosemary Harris) is featured in the company as Izzie Truce.

The plot of House and Garden is typically farcical with marriages and careers on the rocks, colorful friends and neighbors and the odd sexual encounter in the bushes. What makes the twin comedies so special is that they play at the same time in two different theatres — as an actor exits House, she is on her way to an entrance in Garden and vice versa.
