The DC-based company Arena Stage, prepping for its 60th anniversary and inaugural season at the newly-renovated Mead Center for American Theater, held an Aug. 27 cocktail reception at Sardi's.

Artistic director Molly Smith and managing director Edgar Dobie were joined by artists from the upcoming season and other guests, some from past Arena seasons.

Among those in attendance were Kenny Leon, Maurice Hines, Tom Kitt, Lynn Nottage and Kate Baldwin.

The season opens Oct. 22 with Oklahoma!, directed by Smith and featuring award-winning DC-area favorite E. Faye Butler.
