According to press notes, Good People "take the audience to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month's paycheck covers last month's bills and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what life she has left to find out."
The cast of Good People is comprised of familiar faces for the Walnut Street audiences as well as one Walnut Street newcomer. Julie Czarnecki, who was last seen as Veronica in God of Carnage, plays Margie. Mike, the old fling who made it out of Southie, is played by Dan Olmstead who was most recently seen at the Walnut as Salieri in Amadeus. Joining Czarnecki and Olmstead are Danielle Herbert (Love Story, Buddy - the Buddy Holly Story) who plays Kate, Mike's wife, and Denise Whelan (The Music Man) and Sharon Alexander (The Producers) play Margie's buddies Jean and Dottie. Making his Walnut Street debut as Stevie is Philadelphia actor Jered McLenigan.
