News PHOTO CALL: Will Eno's Middletown, With Johanna Day and Georgia Engel, Opens at The Vineyard The world premiere of Will Eno's play Middletown, starring Johanna Day and Georgia Engel, opened Nov. 3 at the Vineyard after beginning previews on Oct. 13.

Ken Rus Schmoll directs the production, which features Linus Roache, Tony Award nominee Day, Engel, David Garrison, James McMenamin, Cindy Cheung, Michael Park, Heather Burns, Ed Jewett, McKenna Kerrigan, Olivia Scott and Pete Simpson.

The Vineyard bills the play as "a deeply moving and funny new play exploring the universe of a small American town. As a friendship develops between longtime resident John Dodge (Roache) and new arrival Mary Swanson (Burns), the lives of the inhabitants of Middletown intersect in strange and poignant ways in a journey that takes them from the local library to outer space and points between."
