Following a 10-month hiatus, Forbidden Broadway resumed performances Feb. 22. The new edition began previews March 17 prior to an official opening May 4. It will conclude its run July 20.

Swinging! includes Alessandrini’s takes on Hedwig, Idina Menzel, Sylvester Stallone, Rocky, Cabaret, The Bridges of Madison County, Aladdin, Les Miserables, Motown, "The Sound of Music Live!," Bullets Over Broadway, Kinky Boots, Pippin and Matilda, among others. In a statement creator Alessandrini said, "It seems like it works best for us in these seasons, to do the show in New York as a series of limited runs. We've had a great five months this year, and will take a break, and come back with the new edition when there are new shows and stars to spoof!"

Forbidden Broadway is currently playing a limited run at London's Menier Chocolate Factory through Aug. 20. The show will also play a limited engagement at Feinstein’s in San Francisco July 10-27.

The latest incarnation of the long-running Broadway spoof features Carter Calvert, Scott Richard Foster, Mia Gentile and Marcus Stevens with David Caldwell on piano. (Jeanne Montano will take over for Calvert at a date soon to be announced.)

Forbidden Broadway is created and written by Alessandrini and directed by Phillip George and Alessandrini with musical direction by David Caldwell, set by Megan K. Halpern, lighting by Mark T. Simpson, costumes by Dustin Cross and Philip Heckman, sound by Matt Kraus and wigs by Bobbie Cliffton Zlotnick.

Show times are Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 7 PM with matinees Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
