Two Days at Tuacahn With Aladdin and Hairspray's Edward Juvier Edward Juvier stars as the Genie in the newly expanded production of Disney's Aladdin at Tuacahn, an outdoor amphitheater ensconced in the red sandstone cliffs of Utah's Padre Canyon. He shares exclusive photos from two days at the theatre, performing Aladdin and Hairspray in repertory.

"The work that goes on at Tuacahn Center for the Arts is even more breathtaking than its natural setting," says Juvier. "Doing two shows in rep is a challenge- but two HUGE shows makes it even more challenging. Not to mention, there is a third show in the indoor space. These are just a few shots from two days at work. They fall short in capturing all the hard work (in 100+ degree weather!) that our cast, crew, and staff put in on a daily basis. If you get a chance to visit Utah, Tuacahn is not to be missed! This magical theatre is truly a diamond in the rough. And so are these three thrilling productions!"

The Tuacahn production marks the first regional engagement of the newly expanded and revised production of Aladdin, which debuted at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre July 7, 2011.

The production promises "illusions, camels, magic flying carpets, giant water effects and a live interactive 3DS movie created specifically for this production."

The two-hour and 15-minute stage adaptation incorporates the Academy Award-winning songs from the 1992 film, penned by composer Alan Menken (Sister Act, Leap of Faith, Newsies) and lyricists Howard Ashman (Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid) and Tim Rice (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar), with a new book by Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), who has also penned new lyrics along with Menken. Aladdin also restores several songs that were cut prior to the original film release. Tuacahn artistic director Scott S. Anderson stages the production that is set to run in repertory with Hairspray through Oct. 19. The company also presented the post-Broadway regional premieres of Disney's The Little Mermaid and Tarzan

Dan Domenech (Rock of Ages) takes on the title role with Haley Carlucci (West Side Story) as Princess Jasmine and Juvier (Les Miserables) as the Genie.

The principal cast also includes Michael G. Hawkins (Peter Pan) as Jafar, Jeff Asch as Iago, Paul Vogt (The Little Mermaid) as Babkak, Randy Aaron as Omar, Todd Dubail (Tarzan) as Kassim and Bob Walton as Sultan.

The ensemble feastures Joline Mujica, Erika Amato, Gabrielle Reid, Chris Warren Gilbert, Roger Ellis, Shari Jordan, Brant Michaels, James Royce Edwards, Matt Densky, Ayesha Ayeni, Carlita Ector, Noelle Marion, Summerisa Bell, Erica Bryce, Amanda Jolley, Samantha Gershman, Allyson Pace, Daysha Pedersen, Jesse Lee Coffman, Brooke Aston, Oyoyo Bonner, Nicole Johnson, Bronwyn Tarboton, Samuel Warburton, JP Sarro, Ramone Owens, Troy McGee, Michael Milkanin, Olin Davidson, Wyatt Hopkins, Andre Melendez, Evan Walker, Jesse Gonzales, Chyka Jackson, Eddy Schumacher, Alexis Smith and Tino Smith.
