Photos PHOTO EXCLUSIVE: Ute Lemper Brings Her Bukowski Project to Joe's Pub Ute Lemper, who has starred in both the London and Broadway productions of Chicago, returned to Joe's Pub Aug. 19 with The Bukowski Project, a musical exploration of Charles Bukowski's poetry.

The concerts are billed as "a journey through the poetry of Charles Bukowski from the books 'The Last Night of the Earth Poems,' 'What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk through the Fire' and 'You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense.'"

The Bukowski Project, with artistic idea and conception and music by Lemper, features additional composition and arrangements by Todd Turkisher and Vana Gierig.

Ute Lemper Brings Her Bukowski Project to Joe's Pub



Ute Lemper made her Broadway debut in the revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago, and she is known throughout the world for her unique solo concerts that feature an eclectic array of material. She was named Billboard Crossover Artist of 1993-94, and her theatre credits feature roles in Peter Pan, Cabaret and Blue Angel.

Lemper will offer The Bukowski Project through Aug. 22. Show times are Aug. 21 at 7 PM and Aug. 22 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM.
