Steppenwolf co-founder Terry Kinney directs The Price, which is set to begin Broadway previews February 16 and officially open March 16 at the American Airlines Theatre. The limited engagement of the Arthur Miller play is scheduled through May 7.
Academy Award nominee Mark Ruffalo, who earned a Tony nomination for the 2006 revival of Awake and Sing!, will appear as Victor Frank alongside co-stars Danny DeVito, Tony Shalhoub, and Jessica Hecht.
Here’s how the play is described: “When the Great Depression cost his family their fortune, Victor Franz gave up his dream of an education to support his father. Three decades later, Victor has returned to his childhood home to sell the remainder of his parents’ estate. His wife, his estranged brother, and the wily furniture dealer hired to appraise their possessions all arrive with their own agendas, forcing Victor to confront a question, long-stifled, about the value of his sacrifice.”
