The New York premiere of Tanya Saracho’s behind-the-scenes comedy Fade officially opened February 8 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, produced by Primary Stages. The new Off-Broadway work by the playwright and screenwriter follows the friendship between Lucia and Abel, two Latinos of Mexican descent working at a ruthless Hollywood studio.
Fade is directed by Jerry Ruiz (Basilica) and stars Annie Dow (Song for the Disappeared) as TV writer Lucia and Eddie Martinez (Sense8) as Abel, the studio janitor. Performances began January 25 and are scheduled to continue through March 5.
