Tony Award winner Phylicia Rashad (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, August: Osage County) and Tony nominees Christopher Walken (A Behanding in Spokane, James Joyce's The Dead), Oliver Platt (Shining City, Guys and Dolls) and Edie Falco (The House of Blue Leaves) will be among the Greek gods in "Gods Behaving Badly," a film adaptation of Marie Phillips' 2007 comic fantasy novel by the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Marc Turtletaub, who adapted the novel for the screen with Josh Goldfaden, will make his directorial debut with "Gods Behaving Badly," the story of a mortal couple who meet the Greek gods in modern-day New York.

Walken will lead the immortals as Zeus, the king of the gods. Platt will play Apollo, Falco will play Artemis and Rashad will play Demeter.

Alicia Silverstone (Time Stands Still, The Graduate) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will star as the young couple living in a New York brownstone where the fallen gods are being forced to live like human beings.

The cast also includes Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening) as Eros, John Turturro (Life (x) 3) as Hades, Rosie Perez (The Ritz, Reckless) as Persephone, Sharon Stone as Aphrodite, Nelsan Ellis as Dionysus and Henry Zebrowski as Hermes.

Big Beach co-founders Turtletaub and Peter Saraf are producing with Caroline Jaczko as executive producer. "Gods Behaving Badly" starts principal photography this month in New York.
