PlayBlog Phyllis Newman Reads "What's New At The Zoo?" at P.S. 212 (Photos) Tony Award-winning actress Phyllis Newman was recently on hand at New York City's P.S. 212 to read and sing from the brand-new children's book "What's New At The Zoo?" The book, with illustrations by Travis Foster, employs lyrics from the Betty Comden and Adolph Green (Newman's late husband) tune of the same name, from the musical Do Re Mi.

According to publisher's notes, "With language that remains as fresh and funny as when it was first sung back in 1960, 'What's New At The Zoo?' tells the tale (or is that tails?) of an overcrowded zoo and the amazingly witty animals who want OUT! This captivating picture book includes an introduction and closing note by two-time, Tony award-winning actress Phyllis Newman, wife the late Adolph Green, who explains the connection the song has to their family."
