News Piano Bar: The Interactive Musical Begins Limited Engagement Nov. 15 Piano Bar: The Interactive Musical — a new work penned by Stephen Cole and Matthew Ward — begins its limited run at the Triad Theatre Nov. 15 at 7 PM.

Co-directed by Cole and Diane Pulzello, the new musical features the talents of Jack Drummond, Viola Harris, David Hibbard, Susan J. Jacks, Joy Lynn Matthews, Cathy Trien, Matthew Ward and Edward Watts. The production will run through Nov. 30.

Piano Bar is set in a fictional Manhattan piano bar that's about to be demolished to pave the way for a new Rite Aid. Before the club is closed, the staff and patrons decide to host one final party-cabaret show. The musical, according to press notes, "draws on classic music from American pop, musical theatre, cabaret and TV sitcom genres, giving audience and cast a chance to interact through game play, contests, sing-a-longs, open mic opportunities and much more."

Marni Nixon will be the special guest star Nov. 17; Barbara Minkus will guest star Nov. 30.

Piano Bar: The Interactive Musical features a book and lyrics by Stephen Cole and music by Matthew Ward; the latter is also the show's musical director.

The Triad Theatre is located in Manhattan at 158 W. 72nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam. Tickets, priced at $18 (there is also a two-drink minimum), are available by calling (212) 352-3101.
