Shortly before 8 PM, the Bidens entered the theatre and were greeted with a standing ovation. Just last week President Barack Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia stopped by the groundbreaking musical. First Lady Michelle Obama saw the production during its sold-out Off-Broadway run at the Public Theater last April.
During his recent appearance on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," President Obama paused backstage with host Jon Stewart to talk about a Broadway show they had both seen, Hamilton. The President called the new musical "phenomenal.
Hamilton explores the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, the musical fuses the worlds of contemporary and classic to tell the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. The musical officially opens Aug. 6.
