Violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman and soprano Sylvia McNair will be featured in the Indianapolis Symphony's season-opening gala on September 11, the ISO announced.

The program includes the U.S. premiere of Fantasy on Themes from Fiddler on the Roof, written by Jerry Bock based on his and Sheldon Harnick's musical. Zukerman will play the solo violin part.

McNair, who has largely given up her opera career to sing cabaret standards, will perform selections from musical-theater works as well as excerpts from Cateloube's Songs of the Auvergne.

The program also includes sections of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Elgar's The Wand of Youth, and Dvoršk's Legends.

ISO conductor laureate Raymond Leppard and principal pops conductor Jack Everly are the conductors.

Tickets for the concert, a pre-concert reception, and a post-concert dinner are $200-$400; admission for the concert and the pre-concert reception is $45-$65.
