News Pinolini, Price, Warren, Williams and Mack Set for Trinity Rep's Menopause Casting has been announced for the special Trinity Repertory Theatre engagement of Menopause the Musical, which begins performances at the Rhode Island venue June 5.

Presented by GFour Productions, Menopause will play the Chace Theater through Aug. 2 under the direction of Michael Larsen.

The cast will feature Barbara Pinolini (Earth Mother), Cherie Price (Soap Star), Carolynne Warren (Iowa Housewife) and Fredena Williams, who will portray the role of Professional Woman through June 16, at which point Lisa Mack will join the company in that role.

Daria Melendez will re-create the original Patty Bender choreography. The production will also feature set design by Bud Clark, lighting by Jean Yves Tessier, costumes by Sue Jill and sound design by Steve Shapiro.

Menopause, according to press notes, "begins with four women, 'Professional Woman,' 'Soap Star,' 'Iowa Housewife' and 'Earth Mother,' at a Bloomingdale's lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra and hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, chocolate binges, not enough sex, too much sex and day-to-day challenges with aging parents, aging children and aging partners."

The musical includes a host of popular songs with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, including "Stayin' Awake" ("Stayin' Alive"), "My Thighs" ("My Guy"), "In the Guest Room or on the Sofa, My Husband Sleeps at Night" ("The Lion Sleeps Tonight") and "Puff, My God I'm Draggin'" ("Puff the Magic Dragon"). Written by Jeanie Linders, the Off-Broadway production of Menopause ran for over 1,500 performances.

Tickets to Menopause the Musical at Trinity Rep, 201 Washington Street in Providence, RI, are available by calling (401) 351-4242.
