Danny Pintauro — of "Who's the Boss?" fame — will star in SourceWorks Theatre's annual production of A Queer Carol at New York's Duplex Cabaret Theater, Dec. 2-15.
Written by Joe Godfrey and directed by Mark Cannistraro, the play casts a contemporary spin on the classic holiday tale and concerns the story of wealthy and prominent interior designer Ebenezer "Ben" Scrooge, his overworked assistant Bob and Bob's partner Tim, an East Village office temp who is HIV positive. When Ben refuses to donate to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, he is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past (Marilyn Monroe), Present (a black drag queen) and Future.
Pintauro is cast as Young Scrooge and Tim in A Queer Carol. Others in the play include Marc Moritz, Kip Driver, David Weincek, Tim Cross, Valerie Hill, Michael Lynch and Cynthia Pierce.
For seven seasons, Danny Pintauro starred as Jonathan Bower on the ABC TV sitcom "Who's the Boss?" His theatrical credits include The Velocity of Gary (Not His Real Name) and Beat. The Duplex Theater is located in New York City at 61 Christopher Street. Tickets for the production are priced at $15 plus a two-drink minimum; call SmartTix at (212) 206 1515 for reservations.
