News Pittsburgh CLO Finds Its Oliver! Joseph Serafini will star in the title role of Lionel Bart's Oliver! for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

Serafini is the first to be cast in the production of the Tony-winning musical that will run June 1-6 at the Benedum Center. Serafini has appeared in numerous CLO productions including Les Miserables and Peter Pan, as well as The Grapes of Wrath with the Pittsburgh Opera and The Music Man in Washington, D.C. with the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marvin Hamlisch. Bart's 1963 musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist" earned a Tony Award for Best Composer and Lyricist. The popular musical includes the songs "As Long As He Needs Me," "Where Is Love?," "Food, Glorious Food," "Consider Yourself" and "Who Will Buy?"

The 2010 summer season at Pittsburgh CLO also includes Miss Saigon, Curtains, The Producers, Hairspray and The Student Prince.
