News   Pittsfield's Colonial Theatre to Welcome Broadway Actors in August The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA, will welcome two theatre favorites this summer.

Tony Award winner Betty Buckley will perform her popular Broadway By Request show Aug. 11 at 7:30 PM. She will be accompanied by music-director-performer-Playbill.com columnist Seth Rudetsky. Buckley, a Tony Award winner for Cats, has appeared in Sunset Boulevard, Triumph of Love (Tony nomination), Carrie, Song and Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Pippin and 1776 on Broadway, White's Lies and Elegies Off-Broadway, Sunset Boulevard and Promises, Promises in London and Gypsy at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse.

Ute Lemper, who will perform at the Colonial Aug. 27 at 8 PM, is an Olivier Award winner for playing Velma Kelly in the London revival of Chicago. She later appeared in that same role on Broadway and has also performed in productions of Peter Pan, Cabaret and Blue Angel. She is known throughout the world for her unique solo concerts that feature an eclectic array of material and was named Billboard Crossover Artist of 1993-94. Lemper's many solo discs include "Ute Lemper Sings Kurt Weill," "Illusions," "Punishing Kiss," "Berlin Cabaret Songs" and "City of Strangers." Recent CD releases include "Blood & Feathers" (also on DVD) and "Between Yesterday and Tomorrow."
