Ecstasy, the OBIE-winning play by Mike Leigh, Oscar-nominated writer/director of Secrets & Lies, will be performed May 22 at The Studio Theatre Secondstage in Washington D.C. In Ecstasy, the main character, Jean, invites six people to her London apartment to indulge in Guinness, gin, Elvis Presley music, and a rowdy, Irish sing-along.
Leigh is best known as a writer and director for the British stage, films and TV. He was nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay Oscars for his 1996 film Secrets and Lies.
Ecstasy will play May 22 through June 22 at the newly renovated Studio Theatre. For tickets or more information: (202) 332-3300.
