Playbill.com polled our readers via Facebook and Twitter to see who they would like to play the role that was orginated by Mary Martin in 1954.

Chris Colfer

Alex Larson: Chris Colfer

Dan Lucio: I also say Chris Colfer... He can sing in the female register, which is how the role was written... Plus he looks the part... I honestly can't think of any females currently who I can see playing it.

Rodney Deloach: Chris Colfer

Corrine Ferraro Lam: Chris Colfer

Curt Knupp: Chris Colfer as Peter Pan

Peter Ohsiek: Chris Colfer for sure!

Scott Benjamin Sincoff: Chris Colfer

Karen McCauley: Chris Colfer would be great!

Renee Carson Fardis Walsh: Chirs Colfer for sure!!

Jeffery WinesChris Colfer

Priscila Zortea: Chris Colfer

Colfer made his debut in the hit FOX television series "Glee." He is a counter-tenor and is probably most well known for his duets with Lea Michele, including "Defying Gravity," "For Good" and "Happy Days/Come On Get Happy." Here's a video of Colfer and Michelle singing "Defying Gravity" live.

Miley Cyrus
Mary Ryan: Miley Cyrus as Peter Pan!

: Got to be Miley Cyrus - it'd be genius!

Scott Hofer: Miley, she needs the image rehab.

Gage Baker: Miley Cyrus

After rising to stardom in her hit Disney Channel series, "Hannah Montana" Cyrus has dominated the spolight in recent months with wild costumes and popular tunes, such as "Wreckingball." She has the haircut, but will she hop off the wreckingball and take a flight to Neverland?

Kristin Chenoweth
Jonathan Cort: If they're looking for a male, Chris Colfer. If they're looking for a female, Kristin Chenoweth.

Amy Groleske Petit: Kristin Chenoweth

Kade Ivy: Kristin Chenoweth

Linda Gilbert: Kristin Chenoweth

Stephanie Wamsley: Kristin Chenoweth... she has the short hair for it now!

Chenoweth made her Broadway debut in spring 1997 in the Kander and Ebb musical Steel Pier and has since become a Broadway icon. She has starred in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, for which she won the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Wicked, for which she was nominated for another Tony. Having also been in hit TV shows, such as "Glee," and movies like "Bewitched" and "RV," is a live television musical the next step for Chenoweth's career?

Cathy Rigby
Alex Huff: CATHY RIGBY

Greg Morris: Cathy Rigby! And I'd like someone like Jonathan Freeman as Captain Hook.

Susie Mann: Cathy Rigby

Frank DeMayo: Cathy Rigby. Next to Mary Martin she is the best Pan, despite her age. Period. And.....she wouldn't to learn the lines.

Lea Passione: Cathy Rigby...please?

Derrie P. Carpenter: Cathy Rigby, Laura Osnes, Kristen Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Kelli O'Hara

Donald Bruce Manes: There has never been a male Peter in the musical on Broadway. Mary Martin (it was written for her), then Sandy Duncan an then Cathy Rigby. Kristen's range is too high, so I vote for Rigby. She flies like a pro and like Martin has played the part for years.

Danielle Nelson: Cathy Rigby

Skyler Mitchell: Rigby

Shannon Donohue: Cathy Rigby or Zooey Deschanel

Rigby is no stranger to Neverland. She first played the role of Peter Pan in 1974, and then again on Broadway in 1990, and again in 1999. She was nominated for a Tony for her performance in 1990.

Sutton Foster

Jennifer Davies: Sutton Foster

Katlynn Wilmott: Sutton Foster

Michael Giorgio: Sutton Foster?

PANIC The Musical: Sutton Foster

Candi Harrison: Sutton Foster

Two-time Tony Award winner, Foster has been seen on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, Shrek the Musical and the 2011 revival of Anything Goes. She is set to star in the title role of the upcoming 2014 musical Violet. Click here to check out more about this upcoming musical.

Ellen DeGeneres

Sara Viniar: I love Ellen DeGeneres. I'd watch that.

Alec Carroll: Ellen!!

Cassidy Corrao: I sort of like the idea of Ellen.

Donna Schuster: Ellen

Emmy Award winner and host of the popular talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," DeGeneres has become a household name in recent years. She provided the voice of the forgetful fish, Dory, in the Disney-Pixar film "Finding Nemo."

Pink
Heather Schulze Sciacca: P!nk

Cassidy Corrao: I would say P!nk could pull it off.

Chris Weiss: P!nk

Julie Snyder Denton: P!nk -- wouldn't have thought of it myself, but I saw someone else post it and now I think she would be brilliant!

Alecia Beth Moore, better known as P!nk, has won numerous Grammy Awards and has managed to remain a staple in pop culture since her first album debuted in 2000. With her 2013 single "Just Give Me a Reason" becoming her fourth number-one single, could the next step in her musical career be starring as Peter Pan?
