News PLAYBILL POLL: Who Should Step Into Hedwig's High Heels Following Andrew Rannells? Readers Respond Andrew Rannells replaced Neil Patrick Harris in the title role of the Tony Award-winning revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch Aug. 20. With Rannells only contracted for an eight-week run, Playbill.com asked readers which actor they would like to see next step into Hedwig's high heels.

Andrew Rannells

Rannells made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Hairspray in 2007. He received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in The Book of Mormon. He was also seen in Jersey Boys and stars on the hit television series "Girls."

Matthew Morrison, a star of the hit TV series "Glee," made his Broadway debut in 1998 in the ensemble of Footloose. He has also been seen in Hairspray, South Pacific and The Light in the Piazza; Morrison was Tony-nominated for his performance in the latter.

Jason Marshall: Can we get the OG Hedwig, John Cameron Mitchell, in the running??

George Nicolaidis: JOHN C. MITCHELL

Jason Marshall: No offense to any of the other boys, but I would kill someone to hear JCM sing Midnight Radio in person....

Beau Bowden: John Cameron Mitchell.

John Cameron Mitchell, who penned the book for Hedwig and starred in the original Off-Broadway production, made his Broadway debut as Huckleberry Finn in the Roger Miller musical Big River. Mitchell has also been seen on Broadway in Six Degrees of Separation and The Secret Garden.

This Grammy-nominated artist, seen in Wicked, rose to stardom as the runner up on the eighth season of "American Idol."  He has numerous hit singles, including "Whataya Want From Me," " For Your Entertainment" and "If I Had You."

Constantine Maroulis
Suzanne Connell: Constantine Maroulis. He's played Hedwig before and I've heard he's brilliant. He's included a few of the Hedwig songs in his concerts and it's beautiful.

Prior to making is Broadway debut in 2006 in Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin's The Wedding Singer, Constantine Maroulis was a finalist on the sixth season of "American Idol." He has also been seen in the Broadway revival of Jekyll and Hyde and the original cast of Rock of Ages, a role which earned him a Tony nomination; in fact, Maroulis recently returned to the cast of that Tony-nominated musical.

Mark Samia: Kyle Dean Massey!

Kyle Dean Massey made his Broadway debut in Wicked and has since been seen in Xanadu and Next to Normal. The singing actor currently stars in the title role of the Tony-winning revival of Pippin, opposite Ciara Renee.

Zachary Quinto
Jarrod Burroughs: Zachary Quinto!

Zachary Quinto made his Broadway debut in the 2013 revival of The Glass Menagerie, which also starred Cherry Jones and Celia Keenan-Bolger. Off-Broadway he was part of the acclaimed revival of Angels in America. He has also been seen on the small screen in "American Horror Story" and "Heroes" and on the silver screen in "Star Trek."

Alice Farrell: Kevin Cahoon!!! He is the ultimate Hedwig and about time for him to have a star turn!!!!!

Skip Steiner: Kevin Cahoon!

Kevin Cahoon made his Broadway debut in The Who's Tommy and has also been seen in the original casts of Lion King, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Wedding Singer.
