Full given name: Ann Chiemi Harada
Hometown: Honolulu, Hawaii
Zodiac sign: Aquarius
Audition song: This is embarrassing — I have the world's oldest book. For the last 20 years, "Shy."
First Broadway show ever saw: Pippin starring Michael Rupert! I love him!
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Gypsy with either Ethel Merman or Angela Lansbury
Current show you have been recommending to friends: Drowsy Chaperone – always. Also Spring Awakening.
Favorite showtune: "Infinite Joy" by William Finn. Really anything by William Finn.
MAC or PC? PC because my husband provides tech support
Most played song on your iPod: "An Original Musical" from [title of show]
One CD you couldn't live without: Vince Guaraldi, "A Charlie Brown Christmas"
Last book you read: "American Food Writing" ed. by Molly O'Neill
Must-see TV show: "30 Rock"
Last good movie you saw: "Dreamgirls" (Sat next to Leslie Kritzer totally by accident at the Ziegfeld – it made me feel cool to be out with the theatre community!)
Favorite reality show: "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" - BBC. I was in London then. The sing offs were great. Andrew Lloyd Webber was the judge, so they'd have to compete with stuff like "Another Suitcase in Another Hall." Because the Mistress has so much in common with Maria!
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Judy Garland
Pop culture guilty pleasure: Harry Potter movies. (Also the books.) Any film with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson (if it's just one of them I don't care, but both…I actually paid 10 bucks for "Starsky and Hutch." What was I thinking?)
First stage kiss: Not sure. I thought it was with Matt Forster when I played Dolly Levi in The Matchmaker in high school, but now that I think about it Horace and Dolly probably didn't have a big smooch. I guess opposite Trevor Ward when I was Philia in Forum in community theatre.
Favorite post-show meal: Chips and dip, or at a restaurant, fries (this is a big problem).
Pre-show rituals: Make notes on show calendar like "Drew on for Ben – Jen Barnhart in house."
Worst missed cue: Missed my entrance in "Life Outside Your Apartment" in [Avenue Q in] London – had to wait for a chance to run onstage and join the clump, but my mic was up and you could hear me say, in a pathetic little whisper, "I don't know what to do."
Special skills: Custard pie from scratch. Next goal: Angel Food cake.
Cats or dogs? Dogs, but it's only because I am so allergic to cats.
Who would play you in the movie? Well, the suits want Margaret Cho, but I'm pulling for Emma Thompson.
