Full given name:
Bebe Neuwirth
Hometown: Princeton, New Jersey
Zodiac sign: Capricorn with Scorpio rising
Audition song: "I Love a Piano"
First Broadway show ever saw: Hair. I was 11 years old
Current show you have been recommending to friends: The Drowsy Chaperone, The Color Purple, Grey Gardens
Favorite showtune: You must be joking. Okay. I'll try: "The Bilbao Song," "And The World Goes 'Round," "Somewhere," "Lost in the Stars," "J'attends Un Navire," "Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries." May I just say anything Kurt Weill wrote [or] Kander & Ebb [or] Cy Coleman wrote.
MAC or PC? I do not own a computer. If I did, surely there would come a day when I would throw it out of my window. In the interest of public safety, I am computer-free.
Most played song on your iPod: Anything by Eric Clapton, Tom Waits or Billie Holiday. (My iPod was loaded by a friend. See above.)
Last book you read: In the middle of "Irina" by Irina Baronova, I love it. And I’ve just started and am loving, cheering in fact, "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris.
Must-see TV show: "The Unit"
Last good movie you saw: "A Star is Born" with Judy Garland
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Judi Dench
Pop culture guilty pleasure: I watch late night re-runs of "The Simpsons" and "Scrubs"
First stage kiss: Noël Coward in Two Keys 1996 Bay St Theatre. The actor was Leigh Lawson. The stage manager used to time it with a stopwatch.
Favorite post-show meal: scrambled eggs with French fries
Pre-show rituals: I WARM UP!
Worst onstage mishap: The list is endless. But opening night, somewhere in Florida, 1979, I was Cassie in A Chorus Line. During the Cassie dance, I caught my heel in my red skirt and wound up in a sit spin, center stage. Alone and reflected in all 5 mirrors.
Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition? I ran a modeling agency on the 4th episode, 1st season of S.V.U. I was also the Sam Waterston of "Trial by Jury."
Special skills: I can throw pottery on a wheel. Also, I can place my entire fist inside my mouth.
Cats or dogs? Both, but I live with cats.
Favorite pizza topping: Pepperoni and anchovies
Who would play you in the movie? Bette Davis (We have the same forehead)
Worst job you ever had: It was a good play, but the woman who directed it was a nightmare.
