Alan Campbell

Campbell made his Broadway debut as Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard, earning a Tony nomination for his performance. He also appeared as "Michael Wiley" in Contact. Other stage work includes Noel Coward's Hay Fever at San Diego's Old Globe, Bells Are Ringing at Kennedy Center, Of Thee I Sing at Chicago's Symphony Space, Breakfast at Tiffany's at the St. Louis Muny and the Off-Broadway production of Adrift in Macao.

Campbell co-starred for five seasons on television's "Jake and the Fatman" and played surfer "E.Z. Taylor" opposite John Ritter on the series "Three's a Crowd." Other screen credits include "Another World," "All My Children," "Law and Order," "Homicide: Life on the Streets," "Facts of Life," "Throb" and "Matlock."

He is the artistic producer of Hot Summer Nights, at the Kennedy Theater in Raleigh, North Carolina.

How you got your Equity card: Here goes... Boogie Woogie Rumble of a Dream Deferred, a musical adaptation of Irwin Shaw’s Bury The Dead at the Urban Arts Corp. Shared a dressing room with young chorus boy Rob Marshall. Wonder what ever happened to him?
Favorite pre-/post- show meal: Basilica on 9th Avenue between 46th and 47th.
Favorite liquid refreshment: A crisp, clean three-olive vodka martini.
Pre-show rituals or warm-ups: Light vocal warmup and stretching, visiting with everybody, gummy bears.
Most embarrassing or spectacular flubbed line/missed cue/onstage mishap: I still forget the words to "Sunset Boulevard" even after 1,200 performances. They fly by so fast and in 5/4, 2/4, 12, 64...

Worst costume ever: Authentic boiled wool pants in a musical about the Civil War... in an un-airconditioned theatre!
Worst job you ever had: Singing on the roof of the Carvel Ice Cream store in Homestead, Florida.
