Jeremy Shamos

Full given name: Jeremy Shamos
Hometown: Born in NYC, raised in Denver, Colorado.
Zodiac sign: Pisces
Audition song: "Nessun Dorma" (from Turandot) two octaves down.
First Broadway show ever saw: A Chorus Line
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Death of a Salesman
Web obsession: woot.com
Must-see TV show: "The Wire"
Last good movie you saw: This is embarrassing: The last time I saw a movie in the theatre it was "Slumdog Millionaire."
Favorite board game: Risk
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Nina Hellman
Pop culture guilty pleasure: "Top Chef"
How you got your Equity card: Corpus Christi at Manhattan Theatre Club. Gay Jesus/Bomb Threats/Metal Detectors/Protests/Counter Protests/Equity Card.
Worst onstage mishap: I've had a history of forgetting "hand props." I've left a number of people on stage alone as I exit saying "I left something in the other room that I want to show you...one second."
Who have you played on "Law & Order"? Which edition? On "L&O: CI," I was a suspect who smokes a lot. Got a major buzz from the smoking, so when Vincent D'Onofrio came very close to my face to ask me "intimidating" questions, it weirded me out... actually, it would have weirded me out even if I hadn't smoked 7 cigarettes. It is an odd questioning style, if we are being honest. Right?
Pets' names: Our 14-year-old miniature dachshund is named Nola.
Favorite junk food: Is Peanut Butter junk food? It is my favorite thing.
Who would play you in the movie? Unfortunately, Estelle Getty has passed away, so, as a fan of non-traditional casting, I would choose Samuel L. Jackson.
Worst job you ever had: I dried cars at a car wash one summer and it lacked the "snapping towels with scantily clad women in wet t-shirts" vibe that the movies promised. I was one of three employees who had NOT just been released from prison.
TV or commercial gig you most enjoyed: I played a serial killer on "Fringe" last year. Very enjoyable...
What has been your favorite place to live? The neighborhood where I live now with my wife and two kids in Brooklyn is by far my favorite place that I have ever lived in NYC. It is called Prospect Lefferts Gardens (a.k.a. Flatbush)... I love the people on my block, we have French toast on the weekends and I anticipate us all watching our children grow up together. It is the suburban dream in an urban environment, and I can take the Q train to work every night.
