News Plays by Manuel Borras and Lisa Ramirez to Be Read at Working Theater The Working Theater will present two readings of new plays the week of June 21: Song to a Child Like Me, by Manuel Borras, and a play whose working title is The Poultry Play, by Lisa Ramirez.

Arin Arbus will direct Song to a Child Like Me, about a Puerto Rican family in the Bronx, June 21 at 7 PM at the Dorothy Strelsin Theater.

Lisa Petersen will direct The Poultry Play, June 24 at 7 PM at the June Havoc Theatre. The play is based on Ramirez's interviews with immigrant women who work in chicken processing plants in upstate New York. The cast will feature Yadira De La Riva, Nedra Gallegos, Annie Henk, Anna Lamadrid, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Jose Joaquin Perez, Lisa Ramirez, Laura Carbonell Smith and Danny Wolohan.

The Dorothy Strelsin and June Havoc Theaters are located in the Abingdon Theatre Complex (312 West 36th Street). Tickets to the readings are $10 and may be purchased at smarttix.com.
