The Feb. 1 edition of PBS' popular "Theatre Talk" will be "The Show About the Albee," as the noted playwright talks about his latest work, The Play About the Baby, set to open Off Broadway that same night. He will join hosts Michael Riedel, of the New York Post, and Susan Haskins.

The 2000-01 season began on a happy note for Albee, as the Second Stage revival of his once-reviled Tiny Alice won new respect for the play. The Play About the Baby is Albee's first, completely new work since the Pulitzer Prize-winning Three Tall Women.

The show airs Feb. 1 at midnight on Channel 13 in New York City. It will also air on Boston’s WGBH and on Cablevision’s Metro Arts Thirteen (check local listings for schedule).

"Theatre Talk" is now in its fifth season. This year, the program will be seen on Thirteen/WNET, WGBH/Boston (PBS affiliate), CCIT in Hartford, and as part of MetroArts/Thirteen on Cablevision’s Metro channels.

Future "Theatre Talk" episodes will feature New York Times drama critic Ben Brantley (Feb. 8) and Shubert Organization chairman Gerald Schoenfeld (Feb. 15). For additional information on Theater Talk, visit their Website at www.theatertalk.playbill.com .
