News   Playwright Edward Albee Meets Young Playwright Winners in Sarasota, May 20 Edward Albee will be on hand to meet the winners of the 2000 Young Playwright's Festival, sponsored by Florida Studio Theatre (FST) in Sarasota. The festival takes place April 26-May 20 with performances of over 40 plays written by children ages 6-17.

Edward Albee will be on hand to meet the winners of the 2000 Young Playwright's Festival, sponsored by Florida Studio Theatre (FST) in Sarasota. The festival takes place April 26-May 20 with performances of over 40 plays written by children ages 6-17.

FST focuses on producing "the best plays submitted by thousands of young writers from around the country." During the festival, young playwrights, and theatre supporters visit Florida to see the winning plays in a professional production.

Veteran playwright and Pulitzer Prize-winner Albee will be on hand when the festival culminates with a May 20 ceremony. Albee will present awards to the festival's winning authors. The winners were chosen from more than 64,000 children in the Southeast who were inspired by FST's "Write A Play" tour.
