News Playwright for Pets to Present Mature Fairy Tales April 17 Playwrights for Pets will present an evening of new works at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in Manhattan April 17.

Entitled Fairy Tales: Shaken, Stirred & With a Twist, the hour-long event will feature plays by Janet Demarest, Judith Estrine, Ron Frankel, Maureen Hennigan and Judd Lear Silverman. Performers will include Erin Cronican, Brian Fuqua, Elizabeth Gee, Laura Gillis, John Moss, Arlene Nadel, Barry Steely and Dana Watkins. Show time is 7:30 PM. The evening is recommended for "mature audiences."

Playwrights for Pets, according to the group's official website, "was created to produce play readings in support of organizations dedicated to animal welfare." The April 17 performance will benefit Animal Haven.
