Lisa Peterson directs Broadway stars Johanna Day, Reuben Jackson, Larry Pine, Ana Reeder and Tim Ransom in the world premiere of Belber's Carol Mulroney at Huntington's new space at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion in the Boston Center for the Arts, Oct. 14-Nov. 20.

Workshopped at a 2002 Breaking Ground reading, the new work finds its title character climbing to her rooftop garden overlooking the city to muse on her past with her father and future with her husband. The height gives her perspective on the world and her complex life, though the edge sometimes seems enticing.

Belber's Stabbing was also featured in the Breaking Ground festival in 2003. Huntington artistic director Nicholas Martin staged Belber's Broadway debut work, Match, in 2004. A co-author of The Laramie Project, the scribe's other works include Tape, McReele, Drifting Elegant and 2000 Fringe NYC Festival Award winner Finally. He also penned episodes of "Rescue Me" and "Law & Order: SVU."

The cast of Carol Mulroney features Tony Award nominee Johanna Day (Proof), Reuben Jackson (The Lion in Winter), Larry Pine (Angels in America), Tim Ransom (departing Naked Angels Theater Company artistic director) and Ana Reeder (Sight Unseen). Director Lisa Peterson has previously staged The Waves (New York Theatre Workshop), Donald Margulies' The Model Apartment (Primary Stages) and Tony Kushner's Slavs! (NYTW) and has worked at such regional theatres as the Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory, Humana Festival, La Jolla Playhouse, Yale Repertory Theatre, Hartford Stage and more.

The design team for Carol Mulroney includes Rachel Hauck (set), Kristen Glans (costumes), Alexander V. Nichols (lighting) and John Gromada (sound). The production stage manager is David Lurie.

Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing currently opens the new Huntington season (through Oct. 9) which continues with Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig (Nov. 4-Dec. 4), Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Jan. 6-Feb. 5, 2006), Mat Smart's The Hopper Collection (March 3-April 2, 2006), Marc Wolf's The Road Home: Re-Membering America (March 24-April 30, 2006) and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (May 12-June 11, 2006).
