Titled Between Man & Beast, the evening will feature works penned by playwrights Bill Dudley, Evan Guilford-Blake, V.E. Kimberlin, Judd Lear Silverman and Ed Vela. The ensemble of actors will include James Arden, Kaseem Bristow, Eric Hunt, Bellavia Mauro, Jonna McElrath and Annie Pesch. Show time is 7:30 PM.
The plays scheduled to be read are A Lovely Moon by Evan Guilford-Blake, in which "a reasonable woman, longing for a change, brings her best friend to meet the new 'creature' in her life"; God Dog by Ed Vela, the story of "a suicidal writer talked off a ledge by a rather verbal, intellectual dog"; Identity Crisis by V.E. Kimberlin, a play in which a "couple question their own sexual identities once their kitten provides an unexpected surprise"; The Bride by Judd Lear Silverman, a tale based on a true story about "a boy from a small tribe in Eastern India who has been married off to a neighbor's dog for his own protection"; and Parrots of the Caribbean by Bill Dudley, a raucous comedy about "a pirate ship, a kidnapped contessa, a pirate captain in a quandary and a young deckhand who gets a most unlikely promotion."
All proceeds go to Animal Haven, the animal shelter/adoption center that cares for dogs and cats.
