The 9:30 PM concert – under the musical direction of Dan Lipton (Don't Quit Your Night Job) – was inspired by a previous performance between Plimpton and Roche at Joe's Pub, which was later included on Roche's EP "8 More." For the Zipper concert, Plimpton and Roche will perform a selection of Roche's music, as well as their favorite songs. Additional talents are expected to join the duo for the evening of song.
Plimpton earned Tony Award nominations for her work in The Coast of Utopia and Top Girls. Her New York stage credits also include Cymbeline, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shining City and HurlyBurly. Plimpton will make her Broadway musical debut as Gladys Bumps in the 2008 Roundabout revival of Pal Joey.
