Arizona's Invisible Theatre will present Lyrics of the Heartside, the award-winning solo performance written by and starring Joseph Mydell for a limited run, Feb. 5 and 6, 1999.

Lyrics of the Heartside tells of poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, melding biographical material with theatrical readings of his poems, prose and songs, including "Alice Ruth Moore," "On Emancipation Day," and "Li'l Gal." Lyrics of the Heartside won last year's "Best One Man Show" Award at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.

Mydell received the West End's 1994 Laurence Olivier Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Belize in the London debut of Angels in America.
