News Pop? Blues? Show Tune? Shades of Schonfeld to Be Sung by D'Abruzzo, Huffman, Bean at Joe's Pub Stage stars will sing alongside singer-composer-lyricist Jeremy Schonfeld, a pop and musical theatre songwriter who studied in the BMI Workshop, at Joe's Pub in Manhattan 7 PM June 24.

Highlights of the evening will include songs from Schonfeld's previously released albums "Blue Skies and All" and "Drift" as well as "previously unreleased originals and songs from forthcoming projects," according to Joe's Pub, at The Public Theater.

In addition to Schonfeld, scheduled to perform are Tony Award winner Cady Huffman (The Producers), Tony Award nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Shoshana Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), Christian Campbell (Reefer Madness), Donnie Kehr (Jersey Boys), Michael Lanning (Civil War), Karla Mosley (Drift) and Tracie Thoms ("Rent," the film), among others.

Schonfeld is known for blending tuneful pop, hard-edged rock, gospel, soul and blues. He's been compared to Billy Joel and Jonathan Larson. Schonfeld is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. The album for his musical Drift (with Craig Pospisil) was released by Sh-K-Boom Records. That show was seen at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Actress-singer Shoshana Bean told Playbill.com, "Jeremy is an amaaaaaazing story-teller through song. He's soulful and honest, a true piano man, of which there aren't many anymore. So his sound and his performance are so refreshing."

The evening is directed by Kevin Newbury and produced by Jayson Raitt and Doug Nevin. "I think my co-producer and I feel the same way about his songs," Jayson Raitt told Playbill.com. "His music is layered, moving, and he chronicles New York life in the now. His songs tell very specific stories — about who we are and where we're going — with a contemporary beat. [They're] theatrical sounding without necessarily being typical theatre songs."

Cover is $25 plus a two-drink minimum or $12 food minimum per person at tables. Joe's Pub is located within the Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Avenue. For tickets call (212) 539-8778. More information can be found at www.joespub.com.
