News Pop Stars Sing Hamilton Score on Mixtape, Released Today Album features Alicia Keys, Sia, Usher, Kelly Clarkson, Jimmy Fallon, and many more.

The long-awaited The Hamilton Mixtape is finally available in its entirety starting December 2, both as a digital download and as a hard-copy CD.

Created by Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda in collaboration with Questlove, the Roots co-founder who produced Hamilton's Grammy-winning cast album, The Hamilton Mixtape features a constellation of contemporary music stars who put their personal stamps on songs from the score.

Performers heard on the Hamilton Mixtape include Alicia Keys, Sia, Usher, Kelly Clarkson, Busta Rhymes, Queen Latifah, Nas, Common, plus a special appearance by talk-show host Jimmy Fallon, singing ”You’ll Be Back.”

Miranda said he was inspired by the popular concept albums of the 1970s and ’80s, citing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, which was released as an LP before being transformed for the stage.

With “The Hamilton Mixtape,” Miranda reverses the model.

Seven of the 23 tracks were released digitally in recent weeks, the latest coming on Thanksgiving, “Helpless” (featuring Ja Rule) - Ashanti.
