News Popular Demand Prompts Added Shows for Goodman's Long Red Road, Starting Feb. 13 Before it even begins, Goodman Theatre's world premiere of Brett C. Leonard's The Long Red Road will get an extra week of performances. Tom Hardy stars under Philip Seymour Hoffman's direction.

Due to high demand for tickets, Goodman Theatre will offer eight added performances. The run will now end March 21. Performances begin Feb. 13. The cast of six is intact for the extension week. The troupe includes London stage and screen actor Hardy, Marcos Akiaten, Greta Honold, Chris McGarry, Fiona Robert and Katy Sullivan. Hardy appears with the permission of Actors' Equity Association.

According to Goodman notes, "The Native American concept of the 'red road' — considered to be both life's right path, and conversely, a path of conflict and turbulence — runs through…The Long Red Road, a provocative new play about how one person's anguish can tear a family apart. Sam (played by Tom Hardy) attempts to exorcise his past and drink away his demons on a South Dakota Indian reservation. When his older brother Bob (played by Chris McGarry) appears at his doorstep, Sam must face the devastating, life-altering effects his role in a tragic accident has had on his loved ones — Annie (played by Greta Honold), Sandra (played by Katy Sullivan) and 13-year-old Tasha (played by Fiona Robert)."

Tickets to The Long Red Road are currently on sale at GoodmanTheatre.org or (312) 443-3800.
