For three days, from March 1 to 3 of this year, the inaugural conference dedicated to the theatre industry, Theatre 2001, took place in London. The conference was organized by three of the UK's leading theatrical management organizations, SOLT (The Society of London Theatre), TMA (Theatrical Management Association), and ITC (The Independent Theatre Council).
The main themes of the conference were Creativity, Theatre Buildings and Spaces, Management and Leadership, Audiences, Education and Social Inclusion. Many leading figures took part in Theatre 2001 including Richard Eyre, Nicholas Hytner, Lord Lloyd Webber, Siobhan Davies and Timothy West.
