News "Pounce 10, Paws 3": Producers Seek Cats to Star in Broadway's Breakfast at Tiffany's Cats is not returning to Broadway, but felines are being sought in an open call for the world-premiere Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany's, in which a cat plays a supporting role.

The producers of the new play, adapted by Richard Greenberg from the Truman Capote novella, will hold a casting call the week of Feb. 11 to find the perfect cat to take on the iconic role of "Cat." Pet owners may submit a photo and contact information to [email protected].

Director Sean Mathias said in a statement, "Holly Golightly's beloved companion, Cat, is one of the most famous felines in all of literature. We will search high and low until we find the perfect animal to take on this role."

Breakfast at Tiffany's begins performances at the Cort Theatre on March 4, and will officially open on March 20.

Emilia Clarke (HBO's "Game of Thrones") stars in the iconic role of Holly Golightly, Cory Michael Smith plays Fred and George Wendt is bartender Joe Bell.

Set in New York City in 1943, the story focuses on Fred (Smith), a young writer from Louisiana, who meets Holly Golightly (Clarke), "a charming, vivacious and utterly elusive good-time girl," according to producers. "Everyone falls in love with Holly — including Fred. But Fred is poor, and Holly's other suitors include a playboy millionaire and the future president of Brazil. As war rages on in Europe, Holly begins to fall in love with Fred — just as her past catches up with her."

The cast of Breakfast at Tiffany's also includes Suzanne Bertish, Danny Binstock, Pedro Carmo, Elisabeth Anthony Gray, Murphy Guyer, Eddie Korbich, Paolo Montalban, Kate Cullen Roberts, John Rothman, Tony Torn, Lee Wilkof and James Yaegashi.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is being produced on Broadway by Colin Ingram Productions Limited & Geoffrey Thomas, Donovan Mannato and Dominic Ianno.
