News Powerhouse Summer Season Will Reunite Hedwig Stars Along With Tony Winners and TV Actors Casting has been announced for New York Stage and Film and Vassar College's Powerhouse Season. The 31st season, which will feature various readings, workshops and main stage productions, will begin June 26 and run through Aug. 2 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

A workshop of the new musical Rain will feature Jennifer Westfeldt (Wonderful Town, The Explorer's Club), Carmen Cusack, Jason Danieley (Curtains, The Visit), Elizabeth A. Davis (Once, The Caucasian Chalk Circle) and David Harris (Boy Meets Girl, Secret Service). Barry Edelstein will direct Rain, which is by Tony nominee Sybille Pearson (Baby) with music and lyrics by five-time Tony-nominated composer and lyricist Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine) and is based on the short story by Somerset Maugham. Performances will be given July 10–12.

Tony nominee Sean Mathias (Waiting for Godot, No Man's Land) will direct Beth Dixon (The Royal Family, Major Barbara) and Carter Hudson in the mainstage production The Unbuilt City July 1–12.

Reading Festival #1, which will run June 26-28, will feature Michael C. Hall ("Dexter," Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Lena Hall (Kinky Boots, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Derek Klena (Carrie, The Bridges of Madison County) in a reading of the new musical 15 Minutes by Rick Elice, Stephen Trask and Peter Yanowitz. The reading will be directed by Trip Cullman. The remainder of the cast includes Brandon Espinoza (Gypsy, Big), Carla Duren (110 in the Shade), Lulu Fall (Hair), Jahi Kearse (Holler If Ya Hear Me, Baby It's You!), Molly Pope, Condola Rashad (Stick Fly, The Trip to Bountiful), Steve Rosen (Guys and Dolls, Monty Python's Spamalot) and Matt Saldivar (Peter and the Starcatcher, The Wedding Singer).

Stephen Belber's new play The Dizzy Little Dance Of Russell DiFinaldi will feature Finn Wittrock (Death of a Salesman) and Samantha Soule (Coram Boy, Dinner at Eight). David Cromer will direct.

Junk, a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced), will feature Michael O'Keefe, Armando Riesco, Stephen Spinella (The Velocity of Autumn, Angels in America), Joey Slotnick (The Big Knife), Michael Stuhlbarg (The Pillowman, The Invention of Love), along with Gary Wilmes (Chinglish), Stephen Plunkett (War Horse), Philip James Brannon, Michael Siberry (An Enemy of the People, Man and Boy), Kevin Isola (Brooklyn Boy), Hetienne Park, Annika Boras, Demosthenes Chrysan (Golden Boy), Ted Koch (Elling, The Pillowman), Dan Bittner (The Vertical Hour), Ethan Phillips (All the Way, November), Jason Kolotouros and AJ Shively (La Cage aux Folles). Doug Hughes will direct. Stella Powell-Jones will direct a reading of Clare Barron's a boy put this girl in a cage with a dog and the dog killed the girl featuring Ashley Biel, Dylan Dawson, Susannah Flood and Vella Lovell.

The reading of Zayd Dohrn's The Profane features Ramsey Faragallah, Lameece Issaq, Mahira Kakkar, Dariush Kashani, Dina Shihabi and Sathya Sridharan. Carolyn Cantor will direct.
