The series will follow Joan as she moves from New York to her daughter's home in Los Angeles to watch over Melissa and her son, Cooper. The mix of conflict and familial bonding that follows "showcases what happens when the country’s most outspoken, outrageous and opinionated mom moves in with her independent, Ivy League-educated daughter," according to press notes. "For the first time ever, the famous mother-daughter duo will let cameras inside their homes as they try to put their conflicting personalities aside for the good of the family."
Joan Rivers received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Sally Marr…and Her Escorts, which she co-wrote, and also appeared on Broadway in Broadway Bound and Fun City. She is known for her work as a comedienne, including years of stand-up, many guest-hosting stints on "The Tonight Show" and appearances on various awards-show red carpets with her daughter, Melissa. Melissa has reported for "CBS This Morning" and contributed to "Hanging with MTV," among other projects.
"Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?" will air Tuesdays at 9 PM ET on WE tv.
