In 2011 Primary Stages presented the premiere of Busch's Olive and the Bitter Herbs. The company also produced his 1994 comedy You Should Be So Lucky. The untitled new work will reunite Busch with director Carl Andress, a frequent collaborator who also staged The Divine Sister, Die Mommie Die! and The Third Story. Busch's longtime co-star Julie Halston will be part of the production that will play 59E59 Theaters.

According to Primary Stages, Busch will appear in the play "as an out-of-work female impersonator who, when his elderly landlady dies in her sleep, takes on her identity in order to hang on to her valuable Greenwich Village townhouse. This 'perfect' scheme goes awry and leads to a wild path of twists and reversals plotted by an eccentric rogues gallery of outrageous schemers."

Elf and Wedding Singer lyricist Chad Beguelin's Harbor, which premiered at the Westport Country Playhouse last August, will run July-September 2013 at 59E59 Theaters. Westport artistic director Mark Lamos will again stage the work.

Here's how it's billed: "When fifteen-year-old Lottie and her ne'er-do-well mother Donna drop in unannounced on the beautiful Sag Harbor home of Donna's brother and his new husband, all hell breaks loose. The bonds between kith and kin are tested in this alternately biting and touching comedy about the constantly shifting nature of the meaning of family."

In addition, a new world-premiere sports drama from Lombardi and Magic/Bird playwright Eric Simonson will debut in October 2013 at a theatre to be announced. Fran Kirmser, who also produced Simonson's plays on Broadway, conceived the work, which the playwright will also direct. It is announced under the working title The Yankees. "The Yankees," according to Primary Stages, "tells the generational story of a most extraordinary baseball family, and the game itself. Follow the revered New York Yankees Yogi Berra as he struggles to keep the focus on the team, transgressing the tricky world of dreams, celebrity, and the ever-changing landscape of this beloved American pastime."

A fourth play will be announced.
