News Prince Edward to Attend West End's Kes Sept. 9 Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and his wife will attend a performance of Kes at the Lyric Hammersmith Sept. 9.

The play is about a delinquent boy from a poor family who lives in a Northern mining town in the late 1960's.

Prince Edward is famously the most theatrical member of his family, having actually worked in the industry when, some years ago, he was given a job in Andrew Lloyd Webber's offices to gain first-hand experience of how to run a theatre company.

As it happens he headed into the television world instead, founding a company, Ardent, that has been best known for Royal documentaries.
