News Principal Casting Announced for U.K./Ireland Tour of Wicked The principal cast has been announced for the U.K./Ireland tour of Wicked, which is scheduled to begin performances Sept. 12 at Manchester's Palace Theatre and will then continue to Dublin, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham, with further cities and dates to be announced.

The cast of the international hit musical will be led by former West End cast members Nikki Davis-Jones, Emily Tierney and George Ure as Elphaba, Glinda and Boq, respectively. They will be joined by Liam Doyle (Fiyero), Marilyn Cutts (Madame Morrible), Dale Rapley (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond), Carina Gillespie (Nessarose) and Jemma Alexander (Standby Elphaba).

Davis-Jones was previously the standby Elphaba in the West End, where she performed the role on hundreds of occasions. Other recent theatre credits include playing Maureen in the concert tour of Rent with Kerry Ellis and the new musical LIFT at Soho Theatre.

Tierney appeared in the London production of Wicked and subsequently starred as Glinda in Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium.

Doyle entered and won the nationwide talent search hosted by GMTV to find an actor to play Troy Bolton in the stage version of High School Musical 2. Other roles have included Link Larkin in Hairspray on a U.K. tour and Eddie in Mamma Mia! in the West End.
