News Producer Spills About Climb to Great White Way in Falling Off Broadway, Starts Nov. 26 The New York premiere of David Black's Falling Off Broadway will begin performances at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons, Nov. 26.

The work is set to open Dec. 5 for a limited engagement through Feb. 20, 2005. Craig Belknap directs.

Written and performed by producer David Black, Falling Off Broadway follows the impresario's journey from boyhood to Broadway producer — "Along the way he graduates from opera singer to spy, and from sock salesman to Wall Street stock salesman," offers a show release. Black has previously performed the work in London.

As a producer, Black has presented 18 shows on Broadway including George M!; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Ides of March, Ready When You Are, CB! and The Impossible Years. He has also authored the books "The Magic of Theater" and "The Actor's Audition."

Director Belknap has staged Off-Broadway's The Killing of Sister George and Modigliani. He has also directed "Doogie Howser, M.D." on television and the film "Traveler’s Rest."
