Producer Stewart Lane (1776), who recently tried his hand at playwriting, will now take a stab at directing. From Aug. 20 to Sept. 11, the Actor's Theatre of Nantucket will present Lane's production of the A.R. Gurney play, The Golden Age. The cast features Jetti Ames, Bonnie Comley and Paul Singleton. Lane recently collaborated with former New York Post theatre reporter Ward Morehouse III on If It Were Easy, a new comedy about producing on Broadway. Lane described the work as being in the tradition of the Ben Hecht-Charles MacArthur classics The Front Page and The Twentieth Century.
Performances for The Golden Age run Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 PM. For information, call (508) 228-6325.
