Following the Dec. 9 performance of the long-running, Tony-winning revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, the musical's producer, five-time Tony Award winner Barry Weissler, will take part in a discussion and question-and-answer session.
Drew Hodges, CEO and creative director of the Broadway advertising agency SpotCo, will moderate the discussion.
The series, according to press notes, is designed to "provide theatregoers with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of Chicago."
Along with his wife Fran, Barry Weissler's producing credits includes Othello with James Earl Jones and Christopher Plummer, My One and Only with Tommy Tune, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Kathleen Turner and Charles Durning, Gypsy with Tyne Daly, Fiddler on the Roof with Topol, Zorba with Anthony Quinn, My Fair Lady with Richard Chamberlain, the Tony-winning production of Falsettos and Grease! with Rosie O'Donnell and Brooke Shields. The Weisslers also produced the Bernadette Peters revival of Annie Get Your Gun as well as the Donny Murphy revival of Wonderful Town and the Christina Applegate revival of Sweet Charity.
Weissler is currently developing The Band Wagon, based on the classic MGM film; and Clueless, an adaptation of the hit 1995 Paramount movie. Tickets for the Dec. 9 "Talkback Tuesdays" performance are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
