Producers are aiming to raise £50,000 by Oct. 2 to help fund the limited, 20-week engagement of the musical that previously played London's Young Vic. So far, £486 has been raised since the Aug. 27 launch of the Kickstarter campaign.

Perks for those who pledge funds via the campaign range from photos with the cast, merchandise, meetings with composer John Kander and a master class with Scottsboro Boys director-choreographer Susan Stroman.

According to producers, "When preparing for the West End transfer, the fans and supporters of The Scottsboro Boys sent so many messages and requests for ways they could support the show and engage with it beyond simply buying a ticket. The best method to do this is through Crowdfunding. Kickstarter gives our fans the opportunity to get involved with the show and support it in entirely new ways, and also get incredible rewards in return."
